Tamara
Halligan has been involved with designing custom homes long before
graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in Architecture
in 1991.
At the age of 9 she put pennies in the foundation of the first house
she helped build from the ground up with her parents on Tala Shores
road in Paradise Bay, WA.
Tamara has spent most of her career designing single-family homes
on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas. She prides herself on her ability
to listen to the client's dreams then incorporate those ideas along
with her expertise into solid beautiful homes.
The projects that she finds truly satisfying are custom homes and
remodels that are dictated by challenging conditions. Be it ravined
lots on the Hood Canal, water conservation challenges on Marrowstone
Island, pie shaped lots in city limits, or turning the proverbial
seventies rambler into a contemporary home. Creative challenges are
her forte.
Tamara encourages people to design within the limitations of their
site and to pay attention to solar orientation. Tamara Halligan and
her family are still putting pennies in foundations with the latest
being a small house in Port Townsend that her husband built after
their daughter was born in 1999. |
